COVID continues

So, I had to have a procedure yesterday for an issue that has come about probably  because of COVID.  We are praying that this procedure worked and the problem doesn’t come back again and that the Lord will bring physical healing.  Other than that, we are doing well thankfully and feeling much better.  Shortness of breath is gone, energy has come back, coughs are getting better.  I think Sean can taste and smell some stuff, but not everything yet.

Here is a picture of the girls, thought that would bring smiles instead of talking about nasty COVID.

Too bad Natalie isn’t in the picture, too.

And probably in even BIGGER news, Lucas started school.  For those of you who may not know, we home school our kiddos, but Lucas has Down Syndrome and some significant developmental delays so we have decided to put him in public school.  He started on Monday.  He gets on a school bus and goes every afternoon for a few hours and then the school bus drops him off.  He’s 3!!!!  It’s crazy to be putting him on a bus and sending him off to school.  We are not used to that around here, but everyone has been excited for him and he has been doing very well this week.  He has a regular teacher, but then he also has OT, PT, a social worker, speech, and a psychologist, along with 2 teacher aides.  He gets to go to the library and has music time and outside play time.  They seem to be keeping him very busy!  We just hope and pray that this gives Lucas the best opportunities in life to excel and succeed.  I am just not able to give him everything he needs.

Lucas waiting for the bus and then on the bus.

And finally, Lucas turned 3 on 9/11, which is bittersweet in itself because of it being 9/11.  Then there is the hardship knowing that he is so behind and won’t even eat or eat cake and he doesn’t even know it’s his birthday, his whole really hard birth story and the first year of his life with being so sick and then having two heart surgeries.  Yeah, it’s a lot.  BUT we are grateful that he is here and a part of our family and we know God has plans for his little life even if we don’t understand.
